The new North East London Training Hub contract will begin on 1 November and run until March 2027.

The GP Care Group has been awarded the contract by NHS England to provide training and development for healthcare professionals across North East London.

The new North East London Training Hub contract will begin on 1 November and run until March 2027. The GP Care Group will deliver the contract with Community Matters - two organisations with considerable experience of delivering positive training and workforce transformation outcomes across the NHS in London.

The two organisations will work closely with partners to delivery high quality workforce programmes, including:

  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programmes
  • Recruitment support
  • Staff wellbeing
  • Enabling student placements
  • Developing future educators

The North East London Training Hub will support tens of thousands of health and social care workers across the North East London Integrated Care System (ICS). Training Hubs work closely with Primary Care Networks (PCNs) and ICSs to support workforce priorities and tackle health inequalities to help meet patient and population demand. The ICS is a local partnership that brings together health and care organisations, including the NHS, local authorities, social care providers and the voluntary sector.

Zainab Arian, CEO of the GP Care Group, said: “We are delighted to have won this contract alongside Community Matters. Between us we have a very strong track record in delivering successful Training Hubs, filling over 100,000 training places in the past 10 years.

“We will work as collaboratively as possible with all stakeholders across North East London ICS to ensure the Training Hub is a success. It is only by working together that we will be able to provide the right mix of workforce development opportunities which can address current and future needs to support high-quality healthcare delivery.”

Sule Kangulec, Director of Community Matters, said: “This contract is an exciting new opportunity to support the development of the healthcare workforce across the region and aligns with the NHS England workforce, training and education priorities.

“The aim is to establish robust processes which ensure the effective delivery of the Hub’s objectives. With a focus on innovation, inclusiveness, and system-wide collaboration, we aim to empower healthcare professionals and strengthen workforce capabilities across North East London.”

Opportunities for engagement and participation from people and organisations across North East London ICS will follow in the coming months.
