If you or someone you know is experiencing loneliness, or wants to make a new friend without leaving home – the Toynbee Hall phone befriending project might be for you
The borough’s vision of a seamless health and care experience for its citizens.
The project brings together people with shared interests for a regular conversation over the phone
Anyone who lives in Tower Hamlets and is experiencing isolation or loneliness can ask the Toynbee Hall Phone Befriending Service to find them a befriender and they’ll do their best to match you with someone for a weekly/ fortnightly chat. In order to make sure that conversations are positive experiences for the people that request them and safe for everyone involved, the service recruit and train befriending volunteers in how to be respectful, helpful and aware of people’s needs.
