ELFT Awarded 'Employer With a Heart' Recognition
ELFT has received the 'Employer With Heart' recognition by 'The Smallest Things' charity which promotes the health of premature babies and their families. The award is in recognition of the Trust's Maternity, Adoption and Shared Parental Leave Policy which aims to support staff on their journey to becoming parents. These changes support parents returning to work following the birth of a premature baby and additional paid leave will be given to parents (including paternity leave) when their baby is prematurely born and hospitalised care is required. The paternity leave will allow new fathers to be with their baby in hospital, receiving at least two weeks of paid compassionate leave on the birth of their premature baby.
Part of their mission of 'The Smallest Things' is to promote high quality care for mothers affected by postnatal depression, anxiety and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder associated with premature birth.
