Hero digital eredbook is now available for parents in tower hamlets

The traditional paper redbook for recording children’s key health and development milestones has had an exciting digital overhaul.

The traditional paper redbook for recording children’s key health and development milestones has had an exciting digital overhaul after being rebranded as eRedbook and is now available to parents and parents-to-be in Tower Hamlets.

The eRedbook gives greater control to parents, making it easier for them to access and store pregnancy scans, note health appointments, child pictures and even record questions for upcoming health visitor and GP appointments. All of this important information can be easily accessed on parents’ digital devices, including mobile phones, laptops or computers.

Tower Hamlets Health Visiting team, a service provided by the GP Care Group, has been working behind the scenes for months to ensure a smooth implementation of the new digital service.

Jenny Gilmour, the Care Group’s Clinical Director of Integrated 0-19 Services Health Visiting & School Health and Wellbeing said: “We’re thrilled to be an early adopter pilot site for the eRedbook and welcome it being rolled out across London.”

“While the eRedbook will prove to be an invaluable resource for parents and parents-to-be, it will also enable parents and health professionals to work even more collaboratively together. Parents will be able to access their child’s clinical records, such as blood test results and immunisations.”

The development of the eRedbook has had clinical guidance and support from a range of health organisations and partners. It will provide seamless guidance from when your child is a newborn until they turn five years old. Also, because the eRedbook is part of NHS Login family, parents-to-be can register for eRedbook using their NHS Login. If they register using their NHS Login details their baby’s records will automatically be available to them after the birth with no health professional intervention.
