Find out how you can influence local health services

As a Tower Hamlets resident, would you like to have the opportunity to be involved in helping to shape your local community and mental health services? If so, East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) is looking to appoint two people as Governors to represent the voice of Tower Hamlets within the Trust.

You do not need any special qualifications, or any special experience. But you do need to have an interest in health care, be passionate about ensuring local people get expert care when they need it and u2026 be a good listener. Because that is the best way to understand and gather information to bring about improvements.

As a Governor, you will need to attend a one day Governor Induction session which will be held on 6 November 2018, attend six Council of Governors’ Meetings a year and our Annual Members Meeting. Governors can also attend local meetings with members, Governor site visits and committee meetings. You can bring back news, ideas and perceptions that you have picked up on your travels around Tower Hamlets to feedback to ELFT.

If you want to know more, you can view this four and a half minute film below where some of our current Governors talk about what they get from being in the role, and what they give back.

If you want to take the first step to stand as a Governor, go to the ELFT website here, for more information. You need to apply by 14 August.

Are you a Tower Hamlets resident? If you have any feedback regarding our services, or suggestions of ideas and initiatives that may improve the healthcare and wellbeing of people in Tower Hamlets.
